What Is a Content Session, and Why Do They Matter? | Atlanta Brand Photographer and Video Production

You’ve probably heard me talk about it on Instagram stories, or if you’re a business owner know what a personal brand session is. Today I wanted to share how personal branding and creating content of myself has helped me grow, as well as why I decided to start offering this new service I call Content Sessions.

I am also sharing photos and video from my latest content session with Woodstock’s Best Senior Photographer, Rebekah Gregg Photography. Her passion for her business, heart for serving her clients, and her openness in sharing that, are the kind of business owners I created these sessions for.

How it all started…

It all started last year when I was invited to make short looper personal brand marketing videos, and a behind the scenes promotional video of a group coaching mastermind kick off. I had been making videos for my clients, my business coach noticed and invited me to be there.

While I was there I also had a session with the photographer to get some content for myself. Once I got home I started sharing those images on social media, and guess what, people really liked them! Like really really liked them and my engagement started to grow. Interesting? I take pretty pictures everyday and try to curate a feed full of them to attract my ideal clients and followers, but what those people really want to see is ME. Who I am, and what my process is. Crazy, right!?

So I kept on posting more photos of myself, sharing videos and showing up on stories talking about my life and my business, and I just continued to grow. I got vulnerable in my posts, and kept showing up everyday. In just a few months I had made some really great new friends, followers, and connections, some of which have turned in to real live paying clients!

What clicked was that people knew I could take amazing photos, there’s about 8 billion other people in my area who can do the same thing, some even way better, and/or way cheaper! What none of those people have though, is the ability to be ME, and that’s what people were looking for, that connection to a real, authentic person.

My business is all about people and the relationships I create with them, providing them a personalized service, making them feel special and seen. We live in a world where everyone is trying to be seen and get followed. There is a lot of noise to sift through daily, and what we are searching for is connection. Authentic, honest connections with like minded individuals who see us for who we are and not just another number.

Enter Content Sessions!

I loved what I was seeing so much, I decided I wanted to help other creative business owners do the same thing! Enneagram 2 “The Helper” over here.

I wanted to create sessions that help business owners create content to show what their business is about, and convey what makes them unique, to create those deep and authentic connections people were going to remember. As creative small business owners we put so much of our heart and ourselves in to our business, when we get vulnerable enough to show that, our businesses grow! People remember us, and want to work with us. My heart lies in helping business owners do that!

I make videos that allow you to tell your stories, like literally talk about it on video. I feel like using your voice, and moving images to tell the story is so dynamic, and will also keep people interested in watching a full length brand video. Video has also been shown to keep people on your website twice as long!

Getting in front of the camera

Each session is planned around your unique vision, and if you don’t have a vision, I can help you curate one. Consider me your hype girl who’s going to get you excited about taking photos, feeling confident throughout the entire process, from shoot day to posting your content online. I want you to leave with content you can’t wait to share, professional photos that go beyond a headshot, and videos that create the credibility your business needs to attract the ideal clients who love you, and leave killer Google reviews.

After your shoot, I am going to be there to pat you on the back, or pop the bubbly, with every bit of growth you start to see in your business. I want your shoot to not only give you content, but a confidence boost in sharing your business and your truth.

Ok, I’m in, Tell Me More

I actually have a handy little page that includes all you need to know about the package, booking, planning, and more info on why I created content sessions and what they can do for your business.

Next up, I’ll do a post about why video content is the new photo content, and how it can benefit your business on your website, on social media, and in your ad’s.
